Zoe means LIFE in Greek

The Nicholas Zoe Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the loving memory of Nicholas Artemiou. It advocates for pediatric sarcoma patients by funding research and fostering awareness about the disease. This 501 (c)(3) organization raises money to fund grants for sarcoma researchers. The Nicholas Zoe Foundation dares to dream of advanced medical treatment options for Ewing sarcoma and diagnostic tools that will enable earlier diagnosis and personalized treatment.

Nicholas Artemiou

The Nicholas Zoe Foundation may have been born out of tragedy and loss,
but it aspires to help fund new breakthroughs in pediatric sarcoma cancer research that could revolutionize how we battle this "beast."

Nicholas Artemiou passed away at the age of 9 on October 23, 2023 following a heroic three-year journey with cancer. His remarkable strength, courage, resilience, wisdom and charisma constitute the driving force of the Nicholas Zoe Foundation and its vision for a world without cancer.

As a first step towards our vision and mission, we are in the process of raising funds for a new research being conducted by the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.

The Center has already been successful in the genetic fingerprinting of pediatric solid tumors, which are much more complex than adult tumors. This allows for a more targeted, precise drug choice, which improves outcomes. The new research will take these results and move the capture of the genetic material from biopsies of the tumors to a simple blood test. This translates to faster diagnosis and targeted care.
